It's something we have thought about.
However, before making an instagram account, we'd need to discuss it's usefulness.
Not making an account for the sake of making it.
If we found that a number of members used instagram on a routine basis, we could make one and share photos from club events outside of the ones we already post on this forum.
My main concern is that making an account useful would require members to actually communicate with us when we post pictures from events, or we could 'like' or comment on member's pictures.
If we had members that were pretty active on instagram it would make sense.
Sharing more as a club via social media (outside of this forum and our website) is wicked easy, if more folks were actually using those sites and doing so regularly.
Right now the FB acct and Twitter has very few folks from this club signed up.
Many people are only just starting to use the club website as a source of information too (you can reach out FB+ Twitter via the media icons on the site).
If anyone has any ideas/insight in how to get more members into the online community scene that'd be great to share.
The easiest action step is to make a poll to ask about media use on this forum since this is probably the predominant point of contact for members/non members. When I've done that poll in person (sure, not the largest data set) most people just do not have a strong online presence.
