Installing Nikon View software problem

When I got my Nikon 4300 two years ago it was a snap to install the software on my laptop. The laptop died so I'm trying to install the software on the desktop without any luck. I install it from the original disk and it appears to install but when I try to use it I get a message that the browser has detected an error and has to close.

Anybody had this happen ? Any ideas what's going wrong ?

Haven't had that happen but scratched disc is the first thing that comes to mind- have you checked that?
I have an old Nikon scanner that I needed to re-install and after banging my head on the wall for a few hours I found a very well hidden note in the Nikon support area that said you needed to download and install this one tiny little file to make things work... they didn't include it with the firmware for some reason- it was in a completely different support area

Did you download the latest firmware from the nikon usa site?
