IO makes my sand brown....lol keep going back to it several times, but the Brown sand always comes back,
My tank loves Tropic Marin...

The salt isn't causing the sand to become brown. Your local aquarium uses IO and their sand isn't brown... My sands not brown, everyone I know that uses it doesn't have brown sand

Personally I think it's the organics they put in their salt ,all I know is when I use Tropic marin it goes away.

There are no organics in Instant Ocean. There are organics in Instant Ocean Reef Crystals. They are two totally different salts.

I use IO and my sand is not brown. Does anyone know when the sale will be back again? Dang needed some more salt!

I get a box of IO on Amazon regularly for $39 including shipping. That's less than the bucket and u get more salt. 200 gallons with the box v. 160 with the bucket.

I try to order my salt ahead of time, if you're patient and don't mind looking every day eventually amazon gets in 200 gallon IO or RC that someone damaged the box and they knock about 20-25% off the price, bought my last 200G box of IO for 31.56 free prime shipping. Alternately you can get Kent Marine Reef Salt(which I love btw) from Doctor Foster and Smith for 48$ a box and it's free shipping at 175$ so 4 boxes =free shipping.
