Instant Ocean

Ok so I use instant ocean reef crystals. Problem I'm having is mixing to much to the point that I'm high (1.031). Does anyone else use reef crystals? And if so... how do you mix? And how much per 5 gallons.

I have used instant ocean in the past at 1/2 cup per gallon with good results. Just check it before you use it. US gallons*

I use reef crystals. I usually mix about 40g at a time. When I am mixing, I usually put in the amount of salt for around 35 gallons and check it. Then slowly add, so I don't over-shoot what I am going for. It pretty much ends up exactly what the directions say, everytime.

I do the same add a little less and then add slowly until I am where I need to be.

And this is why I make 50G at a time. Just open a bag and dump in, perfect every time.

Typically 1/2C per gallon. Start at 4gallons(2C), test, add a little more so you don't overshoot. When I used to do 5G at a time I did 2 1/4C, test, then add a bit more if need be(1/4C at a time).
