Insurance?

I'm literally in the middle of a move and have discovered that my insurance company, despite what I was told two weeks ago, does not cover any damage that might occur due to the fish tank. Which in turn means that the place I'm moving to will not let me keep the tank. Argh!

So, does anyone know of a renter's insurance company that covers damage that might occur if the tank springs a leak?

Thanks in advance,
Joleen

I had the same issue..... no one would cover me as a renter for some reason, but they do if you own the property...

The advice I was given was to live on the ground floor and get an umbrella policy incase there was ever an issue. I didn't do this, but you can look into it.

In the end the apartment complex I lived in allowed tanks up to 55 so thats the max I kept... I would love to know if you find anything, but for me it was only keep the max size they allowed and eat lucky charms every morning. :).

I did however enjoy listening to them explain why they covered a 150 gallon waterbed, but not a 40 gallon fish tank.... Maybe you could just keep a Saltwater bed :)

I would be interested if you find someone who will cover this for my future use.

Thanks
Brandon
