Intake screen

I'm not liking the protruding "orange juice glass" shape to the usual strainer-screens that' I've seen.
Anybody got a NEW idea?
I'm setting up two bulkhead returns with 2 1/4 threaded I.D.'s
but could plastic weld a dome shaped cover over these things and be happy...

the dome shape things would work, just make sure youahve more slotted surface area than the surface area ok the unrestricted inlet.

Okay--- but does anyone know where to FIND something like that?
I once had an industrial supplier fit me with a 'ball valve actuater switch cover' or some such rot and it looked like a perforated plastic dome and very discreet.
any help out there?

Look at intakes used on hot tubs/spas or find "boofer" on RC and see how he made his own.

Mx dia on threaded ones is 2" though.

that second url has a better lower profile design
more in line with my idea of a strainer
