Interceptored my tank tonight

Well I am 4 hours into it on a 4x dose. I had them pretty bad. All shrimp are still alive that i couldn't get out and i see dead red bugs falling off the acros. I am going to wait till 10 am to run carbon and resume skimming, sound about right?

i personally see no bad result from running it longer than normal.

little more piece of mind imo.

I ran just the prescribed amount for 12 hours and still had a few hang on but within 2 hours i dosed it again with 2x the amount and let that sit for 6 hours or so with no water change. just ran carbon again.

week after i dosed 2x again and did a water change reusing the same carbon in the reactor.

I might do another treatment, then ill just change out the carbon in the reactor.

i too have left it in on the longer side to the extent of not attempting to remove it at all . i have had very good results and have not lost anything except for a few red legged hermits due to its use . i always wait at least 24 hours and have done double to triple doses with no bad effects . i would not suggest that you do this because i dont want to direct you in a bad way but it is somewhat safe IMO .
i have heard of some people having all their inverts die off from dosing as every aquarium ecosystem is different so you may have a different outcome than others .
they say not to use the flavored tabs but i have used them and they worked the same as the unflavored pills .

Ok it looks like my mandarin was the only casualty, and i think that was a accident with the mp 40. Acros look healthy this morning and some that i have never seen polyp extension are showing. Already glad i did it. I don't see any bugs left anywhere and i have started skimming and running carbon.

1 tab per 380 gallons is what i have been using but i have used 1 tab in 100 gallons with no ill effects on the fish or corals . 90 of my inverts made it without incident too .
