hi all, its that time again, where it just doesnt seem like i have enough snails in my tank, .....and for some reason my nassarius snails just dissappear

the past few months, i was hoping that one of the LFS would do some type of group buy like last time at emerald bay....but it doesnt look like its gonna happen soon......i know ive talked to a few people already about doing a group buy from reeftopia....but i just wanted to toss it out there for the other folks i havent talked to that would like to join in as well

I'm in...need some snails.

I'll take the following:

Nerite Snail {tesselatta}
Price: $12.00 Per 6

Turbo Snail
Price: $10.00 per/dozen

Nassarius vibex
Price: $10.00 Per 12

i'm glad i saw this link (& added it to my ever-expanding bookmark list LOL)
......glancing around their site, under the "lot prices" link i found :

227 - 80 lbs. Live Rock, Aquaculture Base/includes shipping via FedEx Ground - $150
:eek2:

yeah....i'm gonna be on this like a fat kid on a piece of cake LOL

as soon as we have a date to put the order in, I will go through and make a list. I know I'm needing emerald crabs, snails, maybe some hermits....

Steve

i was thinking 2 weeks from now......ill make an "official thread with a date" sometime in the next couple days.....i just made this one to see if there was interest enough to go through wih it....and it seems like there will be

I need to buy

live rock, live sand, skimmer for 120 gal tank, salt, reef plus, fish, coral, lights, auto topoff, stand, canopy, RO/DI system, temp controllers, mechanical filter .... etc etc etc

if we can get a discount i think we should do it around thanksgiving when we can find good deals.

keep me posted ...thanks

First time on a groupp buy so can someone tell me the advatages to one. And can i order anything from this site. Or is there some things that you guys would stay away from.

the main reason for most group buys in my opinion is because most companies will offer free overnight shipping after a certain limit.....luckily with reeftopia, the limit isnt too high, so having a couple people jump in definitely helps....a lot us here like reeftopia's prices (and the "lot" prices are awesome!)......and everything on their site is noted to be reef safe (unless otherwise noted)

ai-reefer (or anyone else this interested in sand/rocks).....sand/rock has to be order seperately because that's their policy (probably the weight issue).......but if you're still wanting some sort of cleanup crew, you are still welcomed to join in

on another note, anyone that will be ordering atleast $120 might as well order alone since you would qualify for free overnight shipping and free gift....and no need to drive across town just to pick it up

check out live aquaria for all that equipment you need....they usually have really nice prices as well....and ground shipping is a flat-rate regardless of weight AFAIK (only equipment i think)

also, if you plan on having a skimmer, you can skip out on the mechanical filters

The only thing about getting the free shipping and not joining in on a big bulk orderr if you are getting $120ish yourself is you get the deeper discounts by hitting the lot prices for snails and stuff we tend to hit from shear volume of the group orders. But if I have to drive 40 mins. one way to get the stuff .25 off a snail isn't so great hugh? :)

I was going to say the same thing. It actually does help bring the prices down the more people we have join the order. :)

And .25 off of one snail isn't great, but if you're ordering 50 snails... well, need I say more?
