First Tunze Streams cannot be used on conventional wavemakers- it will ruin the pump and voids the warranty. In order to always have the propeller spin in the right direction we employ a clutch mechanism that not unlike the clutch in your car can be damaged or worn out if called upon too much. If this damage isn't caught in a timely manner the pump will be destroyed from overheating and cooling cycles damaging the thermal protection switch. The best way to use a Stream to produce wave action is to use the 6000 Stream in your case which is low voltage and computer controlled. When used with one of our controllers the pump will switch between a low speed and a high speed. The added advantage is you can turn down the flow if you need to. The 6060 Streams can be used on a timer with an on and off interval of 1hr. This gives the clutch sufficient time to retract and run normally. I would only recommend the Streams if your focus is high flow leathers or acroporas. Otherwise for softies, anemones, polyps and the like the 7300/2 pump with a single controller would be the most appropriate choice.
