Interesting about refractometer

I was wondering if I was crazy! I use a conductivity meter but cross check with a Red Sea Refrac. A few weeks ago, doing my normal checks. I always use the calibration solution to calibrate both the day I am using. Went to the kitchen, did my thing on the refrac and the meter.
Went to the front room, did my tank tests. The refrac read diff, BUT I did using the light from the sliding glass door. At that time, I just "blew it off as I always trust my meter first. So, I rechecked (in the kitchen)!, and guess what, they were both the same. Learn something new everyday in this hobby!!! Now I know why!

Temperature plays a big factor too correct?

Yes
In the long run that was why I went with a conductivity meter. It is temp compensated and accurate to two places if calibrated using solution. I think if you read up on Randy's posts on the subject, he suggests conductivity over refrac, but I haven't read up on for a while.
