Interesting fact concerning collecting corals

Thanks, what form of collecting does everyone use and what do you guys think is the safest on the fish?

We typically wade, and flip rocks over, and use a hand dip net.

Once the summer gets here, maybe I'll try the snorkel with a drop net thing.

are there even any Zoos and polyps that grow off the coast of FLorida? like where you guys all go?

Well unfortunately the water is still to cold to do any serious snorkeling. I know there are polyps and zoos, but not really anywhere close to shore in the central florida area.

They are not near as bright and colorful as you may think tho, they are typically green and brown in florida waters. Probably the most colorful coral in florida waters would be ricordia's but they are only in the keys, and quite a ways off shore.

I'm going with yes, I dont believe it is final yet, but its in the works.

Commercial collectors are still allowed to tho.
