It might have been the temp. The coral could have been allready stressed for some reason and that sent it over the edge. It's often hard to figure out what did it with sps though. Don't feel bad, that's how we learn sometimes

oh i don't feel bad really.. I think the temp might have been the issue.. i need to get a new heater tommarow!

I would have thought something along these lines to pop up. "I'm sorry for jumping on your replies everyone, I new you were only trying to help, and I was wrong it was a dead branch to begin with"
