Interesting Mushroom Propogation

I've heard of mushrooms propogating by moving and leaving little ones behind, or little ones popping up from underneath, but have you seen this before?
The first pic is of the original mushroom from a while back. The mushroom kept getting larger, until the center started to disintegrate. I thought it was dying, but now, it appears that it has lost the center, and the outer disc has formed about 4 or 5 individual mushrooms!
It appears they each have their own separate mouth now.

Ah, thanks! I guess I've never seen or heard of them reproducing that way.

I've been very interested in doing this, the cutting method that is. I had read that some mushrooms do this, thanks for the great graphic representation of the natural way. If you know anyone doing or have done fragging yourself please drop me a line.

Garf has great instructions on mushroom fragging. Its trevors mushroom propagation. I did it this way and it worked great.

Nano use

I think that a Nano would be a great place to put a mushroom frag.

Caleb can you give some details about how long it took for the frag to attach and did you use your main tank or the Nano.

I did all my fragging for a science fair project on the use of Vitamin C to help the survival rate in fragged coral. The tank I used was the future nano. Right now that nano is like my prop tank. After about 2 weeks the mushrooms that were supplemented with 1.0mL/10G of Kent Marine C daily attached. After around 2.5 weeks the shrooms without Vitamin C attached. The ones that were not supplemented with Vitamin C ended up dying. If you guys could add Vitamin C in the 1.0mL/10G when you frag and tell me the results that would be great!
