Interesting Theory: Bubble Tip Anemone Bubbles....seems reasonable?

"feed ur reef...feed it!"
came across this video regarding one man's theory as to how and why Bubble Tip anemones "bubble-up"...
While I'm not a Marine Biologist, nor do I play one on TV, I was intrigued by what he has to say...

This. A waste of 3 minutes waiting for his theory.

Kevin

Even after you all warned us about wasting three minutes... I proceeded to waste my own three minutes. :uhoh3:

But it seems like he was about to get into how the anemone will bubble up to increase surface area for photosynthesis depending on how much nutrients it needs. It may have enough energy to only need half of its tentacles bubbled up for it to top off nutrients. At least, thats what he was saying it seems..

I saw a recent post where previously stringy (under T-5's) BTA's bubbled up again once put under MH lights.

My BTA was bubbly under a LED/T-5 combo, went stringy during a move when it was under just T-5, and started bubbling up once put back under my LED/natural sunlight.

Those two things make me think lighting is a factor in the bubbles.

excuse me......I intended to "waste" 8:37 mins of your life, not just 3:00 ;)

didn't realize that only a portion of the vid had downloaded to Photobucket :headwally:

this should be the full video: (commence "time wasting"...)

I didn't watch it yet, but the first thing I thought was, "That looks like Ernest!", at least the way the shot looks. The guy from all of the 80's or 90's movies.
