Interesting thread about algae

I thought that this thread about algae in SPS tank would be pretty interesting to everyone rather than just SPS keepers. Even with the great water quality experienced SPS keepers maintain algae still grows. But algae can be well controlled with a variety of herbivores.

I agree 100%. Algae is normal. If you could starve the water enough for non to grow, Then corals wouldnt' grow much either.
I seem to always have great luck with keeping a Rabbit fish. Even now if you look at our two main displays.. The 92 has spots of hair alage, the 180 doesn't.. Both have the same water parameters..Same Kelvin lights ect. But the 180 has a FoxFace and a couple of tangs that pick non stop. The 92 doesn't.
