there are lots of facts out there... Im interested only in the facts. Water levels are rising.. fact... There is less ice every year... fact.. Levels in most Florida lakes including Lake Okeechobee are at all time lows.. fact.. the planet has warmed over the last 80 years or so.. fact..
Is it man made? I dunno.. Is it natural? I dunno.. Does excess co2 warm the earth? a vast majority of experts say yes..Has the industrialized world contributed vast amounts of excess co2? yes.... Would it be prudent to take steps to alleviate if possible some of the excess man made co2/greenhouse gasses? yes.. I dont need Al Gore to tell me that.. I think its silly to argue against the possibility that man made emissions may or may not contribute to the FACT that in a relatively short amount of time the planet has warmed and millions of square miles of ice have retreated just in the last 25 years. The facts are it is happening. A fat guys blood pressure is 210 over 125. he goes to Mcdonalds 3x a day. He argues until he passes out that Mickey D's has nothing to do with it.. I cant prove his blood pressure is what it is because of the 2 for $3 Big Macs but Id bet it is..

Hmmm. I may be a simple man..but my take is this.
The Earth has warmed and cooled many times over Eons. Allegedly it was warmer during the "Dark Ages" than it is now.
Greenland has Archeological digs finding farms where ice is now.
I remember in the '70's when the new Ice Age was the big scare. I remember SARS, West Nile Virus, Bird Flu, AIDS, and who could forget...the ozone layer was going to give out and FRY the planet in the next 5 years. Scare mongers I say.
IMHO, it's a cycle. Should we try to be better Shepards of our Planet? Heck ya. But the new "Religion" of global warming is ridiculous.
Take a look at our EPA standards and the rest of the world. We can't pass gas without proper EPA guidlines and inspections restricting our bungholes.
BTW, I have heard that the nasty warming period.. 0.6 degrees over the past 100 years, had stopped in 1998. The global temp has not risen since then, but actually starting to drop.
Snow in Baghdad for the first time in written history this past Winter. Amazing. But not alot of airtime.

for actual facts check noaa.gov and while you are there read the report on coral reefs released today. more info at ncdc.noaa.gov .6 degree rise in the last 100 years is not accurate and you can find graphs and charts which clearly show warming did not stop in 1998. good information can also be found at giss.nasa.gov/
