Hi, I am amking my way to setting up my tank. My question is for the very first addition of water to my tank, do I have to let the ro water sit and then let it sit again after the salt is added? Next part is that I am getting live rock from someone who already has there tank up and running, when can that be added? Thanks for the help.

For the very first fill (only) add the RO water straight to the tank... check for leaks then add salt directly to the tank. Future water changes you'll need to mix in a bucket/pail.

You can add the live rock any time after that really. Keep the LR wet/damp during transport if possible.

Read the stickies here and/or read a book on setting up. Your enjoyment from this hobby will be greater if you understand what you're doing and why. Good luck!

I prefer to mix it first I lay out my sand and rock foundation before adding the water that way I dont have to wait for the sand to settle and you can immediately add the rest of the rock without sand settling all over it.

If you go my route lay a plastic bag down over the area of the tank you're adding the water, then the water wont kick up any sand.
