Well, I had worried about shell disease after seeing some spots on Attila's carapace and a few other areas. Then my main tank crashed :eek1: , due to the refugium (Attila's home) overflowing and the main tank getting re-filled w/ saturated Kalk solution
.
the pH had jumped in the refuge too, and the main tank was a total loss, so I didn't expect anything to live in the refuge either. To my surprise, after returning from vacation, I saw a little yellow head pop out! And after waiting for a full two months- he had molted!
So here are some pics, finally (sorry they're a little blurry - holding a chopstick in one hand and the camera in the other is a lot harder than you'd think
) - no telson shots, but anyone have a guess at what kind of spearer it is?
just feeding a little salmon (I heard they were high in omega-3 fatty acids and HUFA's, like they have in Selcon, so I thought that is would be pretty good food, and as soon as I put a small piece in the tank, Attila goes crazy trying to find the piece.
Attila would only pose w/ his good side showing, so you can't see it, but his right spear is re-growing after having broken it off trying to take out my mag-float
