Introducing myself

Hi all! My name is Jeff. I'm about ready to turn 40. I currently live in Watervliet , but grew up in Grafton.

I started the fish hobby when I was 10 with a 10g tank. I kept that for a few years up until about 5 years ago when I got myself a 45g Hex freshwater and I have been running that ever since.

Recently my wife introduced me to some old friends of hers whose husband has a saltwater reef tank that I am buying off of him. If you go to Eddie's Aquarium website, you will see the tank pictured there.

I have always wanted, but was never "wealthy" enough, to get into the saltwater hobby. Until now that is. The tank has been established for at least 5 years now has a great assortment of soft corals and a couple that are a "very" good size. A large clam, some starfish, snails, crabs, lawnmower blenny, six line wrasse, and a black & white damsel.

There is a berlin skimmer, metal halide lighting, sump, pumps, wave maker, and many other gadgets and gizmos.

I am very excited to be getting into this end of the hobby, and hope to meet up with at least some of you in the near future. If anyone has any questions, I would be glad to answer what I can, and I am sure there is a plethera of info to be obtained here when and if the occasion arises.

Thanks all,
Jeff

Welcome aboard

Welcome and good luck with the new aquarium. You are very lucky to start out with an established system that's what I did when I made the transition from fresh water to salt. The guys and gals on here are really awsome. I'm not a very active poster here but read everything and let me say that the members of this club have helped me out tremendously so make sure you log in every day, 3 times a day, you never know what you will learn.
Again, welcome

Welcome, Jeff, to our little corner of the world.

If you are looking for a place for people to discourage your addiction this probably isn't it.

Welcome Jeff hope all goes well with the new tank. If you hit a few bumps along the way this is the place to turn. There are a lot of people with experience.

Welcome coral007!

Hope you will enjoy th ehobby, and also hope you don't mind the ups and downs of the hobby - there will be some, we all have them! As for wealthy, none of us are wealthy, we just have less children than when we started ( selling them off for the hobby, you know:) )
