Morning all,
My name is Alan. I've been a member of ReefCentral for sometime but never too many posts. I was a lot more active over on nanoreefs.com. I recently re-relocated back to Memphis form Mobile, Al and after moving the empty tank I have for the 4th time, I once again want to get another tank set up.
I had a AGA 7g bowfront for a little over 2 years. When hurricane Ivan came through my little tank took a hit that it was never really able to recover from. I lost most of my LPS and my zoos. The fish (sunrise dottyback) lasted for a few months more but, even after constant testing and water changes, he perished and I suspect that nuked the rest of the tank except for the shrooms. I then just donated all the remaining livestock to whomever would take it.
I have a good light hood suitable for a 15L and am looking into picking one up locally. I plan on installing a "Herbie" overflow into a 10G or 15H sump. Depending on the pump and the stand I can get a free flow fuge might be added as well.
I told myself after the first time I would never set up another tank without at least a sump. Loosing even a half gallon of water due to whatever reason causes too much havoc in such a small space.
Does anyone drill or know someone local that will drill a tank? I can probably dig up the confidence to try it myself if not.
So i thought I would drop in and say hello. Hopefully in the next month I'll take the dive again.
