'introduction' Tank - is ParziPro Safe?

My main QT tank is setup essentially as a mini version if my DT, a full reef tank without corals and inverts. But it has live rock. In the past, I have used this tank to observe new fish and inverts, but not to treat them. That I do in a Hospital tank that I setup as required. But I have been thinking that perhaps I should be prophylactically treating all new fish at least with prazipro for worms. Can I do this in the QT, or will the prazipro destroy the reef - I suppose it will kill the worm population? Will it affect my ability in the future to use this tank to QT inverts?

Prazipro is the one treatment that is considered "reef safe." It will kill any worms resident, though.

The tank in question has a high population of bristle worms, so I assume those would be toast? Maybe I will try to manually move them to the main DT.

I have a second tank, a 20 gal, that can be setup as required to specifically treat fish with those diseases. So far, this 'hospital' tank has only been used to treat an H. Magnifica anemone. My thinking is as follows:

1. An observation or introduction tank to house fish initially and great them prophylactically for worms - thus the question about prazipro. This tank also serves as a QT for inverts that require a more comprehensive tank with proper lighting, skimming, etc. This tank is setup permanently.

2. A hospital tank for specific treatment of fish, or less commonly inverts, which is only fully setup as required. This is where fish would be treated for ich, brook, etc.

Good plan! If you have a HOB filter for the 20 gal QT, keep some filter media in the flow of one of your running tanks. Use it in the QT when needed and avoid the biggest problem with new QTs---ammonia.

I had thought to manage ammonia in the HT via water changes, but your suggestion is a good one.
