Bought a Swiss guard basslet and added him to my DT two weeks ago,I haven't seen him except searching at night with a flashlight and even then he hides in the rock work evidently this is normal for these fish. I had been looking at them for awhile before purchasing one but never read that they may be invisible.i also have a watchman goby that I rarely see but at least he shows himself at feeding time.what are others experiences?

I just got a randalls assessor baslet. Disappeared for about 2 weeks, thought he was dead, but now its out and about, Still dives into rockwork when I am messing around with the tank, but getting braver. I think basslets typically hide out at first and come out eventually.

Common behavior. After a while you will probably see it during feeding as long as its not being harassed. My mom had a Swalesi Basslet that would come out in the open because it would associate me with food. Any other time it would stay out of view unless swimming out to grab food.
