Inwall Mounting

I am looking to add a couple voertechs to my 240 peninsula type tank and the power part will be actually behind the drywall. I will actually have to cut a hole in the wall to get them behind the tank. Is this a good idea? how often does that end need touched or serviced? can I use a strap of sort to make sure they don't drop down the wall if I need to remove the wet end for service? I know thats a lot of ?? but these would be perfect as the visual of them in the tank would all but non existent. I am open to anyone thoughts

Hi Jim,

This should be a no problem. Because the spot will be enclosed, I would make sure to provide ventilation or air circulation around the pumps to make sure they don't go into their thermal speed cut down mode. A strap or some type of constraint would be a good idea to prevent the dry side from falling off when you remove the wetside. As for maintenance, you should not have to remove the dry side but if there is ever a need you do want to ensure there is access.

yes, but you may want to consider a fan as well since it is an enclosed location. a 4.5" diameter computer fan would work very well.
