Inwall tank build with corals that "Sway"!

Wow, that looks really great.

Think my other question got missed -- any concerns about the wine being in the same room as the tank -- with the humidity and temps?

Just to follow up some more on the humidty concern I did complete another little tank project a couple of weeks ago that I forgot to post.

I had been testing the humidity of the room and overall it wasn't too bad even after adding the t5's to the tank, but as a precaution measure I decided to find some way to exhaust the humid air. After a week of looking around on the Internet I decided to install a room-to-room fan to exhaust the humid air from the pantry. So far it seems to be working great and I plan to use my contoller to turn the fan on through out the day. The required hole for the unit was about 9 inches, so even if the fan isn't running it's still going to allow the rising humid air to escape.

Here' some info and pics of the unit:

How's the noise level? Can you hear the skimmer or pumps outside of the closet?

Have you wound up using the visible floor space in the corner for things like salt, cleaning tools, buckets?

Where are you storing and mixing water for water changes? Where did you mount the RO/DI?

Were are you keeping your controllers for lighting and temp? Underneath?

Do you think the acid bath really worked?

Yeah it worked great! It probably removed the outer layer on 90% of the rock and opened up a lot of caves/wholes that you couldn't see before. It went from looking like a white coraline cover rock to a brown porous looking rock.

Thanks, thats good to hear. I was thinking about doing that but wasn't sure how it would turn out.

Have you gotten any algae growth on them, do you think the phosphate really got freed up?

Man this is a great clean looking setup. My wife would appreciate this.....I really love the built ins. do you have any pictures on how your lighting is setup? How easy is maintenance with these built ins.

I've had no issues with algae on the rocks.

I really don't have proof that phosphates we removed, but I will say that I'll do the task again just because I can see that the top shell was removed and I have to think it helped.

The maintenance is a little difficult but I tried to prepare for that by planning around it. The light setup is on page 2 and I bought an all in one ATI sunpower setup for easy removal to make maintenace easier. Plus since there's no access on the front I made sure I could reach before building the cabinet. Basically before I built cabinets I did a lot of test cleanings to figure out how big the access places should be around the tank (With that said I have to tell you I'm 6"5 and I've got long arms so that helps too.)

I could take a lesson from you in planning....often times I just wing it and then am disappointed with the results....Do you have any videos posted yet?

Professional build blide, have you always been in Sherman? I could have sworn you were in DFW w/ a softy tank a few years back?

Keep the pictures coming:bounce3:

I need to update my location, but I did live in Sherman most of my life and moved to Allen a couple of years ago. :)

I'll try to get some more pics this week. I've been fighting dino's these past two weeks because my skimmer overflowed back into the tank 3 different times. These cones skimmers are so sensitive and react so fast you don't have time to react. The first time it went nuts is when I painted the room and the fumes caused a reaction and 2 weeks of crap went back into the tank. The second time I was adjusting the valve per the directions and walked back in the room 5 min later and it was overflowing! That's really when the Dino's started to bloom. So I vaccumed the dino's off the sand to help and have been trying to keep my PH eleveated to 8.5 for the past few days with the lights out. Which brings up the third time the skimmer overflowed is when I dumped some Kalk in the sump to raise the PH and I turned around and it was dumping a weeks worth of poop back into the tank.
