Iodine for larval tank?

I was reading Wilkerson again and ran across the iodine addition she suggested. Do any of you dose it for your larval tanks? I'm starting the learning curve with my first batch atm.
Thanks,
Kevin

I don't, since I start the tanks on new water and do daily water changes it keeps the amount of iodine in acceptable levels.

Would not know about people using parent water or water form a reef tank.

The best way of intake will be the food.

Thanks Ed,
So you use freshly made water from day 1? I was planning on using parent water until meta. I guess you don't see ill effects of using fresh vs. parent water. Very interesting info.
Thanks again.

There is been many debates about parent or new water, I don't see the difference really. The reason I do it is because I use 50 gal .tanks to raise them and it's easier for me just to get new water from the mixing reservoir than to remove water from the brood stock system, put it in the larval tank and then refill brood stock.

ok well the steep learning curve begins as I got home today to basically total loss. The suction cups on the air bar let loose and I lost all but 3 out of 70+ collected. On to the next batch.
