The IAA is having a tropical fish swap at the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines on August 5th, there are a few of the regular members who have ventured into the saltwater arena and we'd love for anyone who's interested to come down and bring frags, rent tables, just come check it out

All attendees of the swap will be able to purchase reduced price tickets into the zoo and there's a pretty nifty saltwater section down there, has a jellyfish tank that's so peaceful i might relax myself into a coma

if anyone is interested in getting a table, shoot me a pm, or join us over on www.iowaaquaria.com

The zoo actually did just get a reef tank set up this year. I thought it was actually pretty nice considering that it is the Blank Park Zoo we are talking about here. Given some of the equipment on it (Tunzes) I wondered if they have someone new there that knows what they are doing when it comes to reefkeeping. Although they did have 3 or 4 pairs of clowns in the same tank so I wonder how long it is going to take for them to kill eachother.

actually that whole setup was apparently donated to the zoo by a doctor from what i understand when i went down on my tour of our rental location

I hear he has softies in the reef tank. I also hear they are going to add several more tanks into the room where the tree frogs are now.

The swap looks like fun. I'll have to try and make it.

i did see some softies in there, some mushrooms and zoas mostly, everyone seemed to be getting along, looked kinda nice the way he's got it set up
