iphone app

At startup you will be presented a 'Controllers' page. You will need two instances, one for external network and one for internal network (assuming wireless access).

Hit the '+' icon to add a controller. On the 'Add Controller' page you will have several data fields.

For external network access:
Host: (enter your dyndns info, i.e. xxxxxxx.dyndns.org)
Port: (standard is 80, but it is recomended to use a non-standard port. Needs to match the port forward rule used in your router)
User: (Apex username)
Password: (Apex password)

For internal network access:
Host: (enter the internal network ip address, I use a static address)

The rest is the same.

The Apex is behind your router so it never sees dyndns. Have you read the Unofficial Users Guide? It has a thorough section on setting up network access. Typically you would either install the dyndns updater application on your pc or many routers have a built in update capability. All external access goes through dyndns to your router, then the router forwards to the Apex.

ok so after i setup the dyndns how does that get linked to my apex?? I have tried reading that guide and its over my head!!
I am just missing one step somewhere?

You need to set up port forwarding in your router... refer to your routers user guide. Give it a try. If you run into issues, we can help. If need be, I can work with you directly via phone & a remote computer support session.
