iPhone App

yep did all that and saved it and still can't access by AC3 from internet.
my AC3 ip is 192.168.000.143 and it's set to port 80 on the controller it self.

my AC3 ip is 192.168.000.143

This is the internal (home network) address; you need a public address to access the AC3 from the internet.

i do have a account with DYDNS.com

i use daniksreef.gotdns.com,

isn't daniksreef.gotdns.com my public address?
Thanks

What's the IP of your router? Is the gateway setting on the AC3 pointing to your router's IP?

On the image below, change all 192.168.0.50 to 192.168.0.143

i sent you a PM with all of my settings see.

Im having trouble getting this setup. I just got my AC3 setup on my Linksys WRT54GS router last night. I have the AC3 plugged into port 1 on the router.

I have a dyndns.com account set up. I am using ryansreef.podzone.org as my URL. It assigned me 71.***.***.*** as an IP, then set port forwading up to port 443. It is working just fine if I type 71.***.***.***:443 into my internet browser then log in using my user ID and password. I am able to log on, edit my program, update, and view data logs and graphs from inside and outside of my network.

Now I am trying to get the Iphone app working...

I entered the following into the Iphone app:

Host: 71.***.***.***
Port: 443
User Name: *******
Password: *******

It says "Contecting to AquaContoller" Then a screen comes up that says:

Conditions

Other

But there is not any info from my AC3.

About 30 seconds later a Error comes up that says "AquaController Connection Closed!"

What am I doing wrong?

You need to set a different Port Forward for the iPhone. Same IP address, but Port 23 (default) is what you have to use.

I think you need to use port 23 the default port for telnet, So try this, it works for me.

Host: ryansreef.podzone.org (so you can always reach it outside your network)
Port: 23
User Name: *******
Password: *******

So I need to reconfigure my router & AC3 using port 23 instead of 443?

Do I type my AC3 username and password into the Iphone app or my Dyndns.com user name and password?

You can't use a browser application and the iPhone at the same time. So close that app on your phone, and see if you can still access it from the browser.

If for some reason you can't access it from the browser at all, you may need to go into the Net Menu, and select Restart. That happened to me recently, after a lot of troubleshooting. When you restart, you lose all stored data in the AC3 though. So you start from scratch when it comes to pH, temp, and ORP readings. It won't lose the programmed data though. Just those nifty graphs.

It is letting me use both the Iphone app & browser at the same time. I have them both logged on and was able to manually turn the fans off with the browser, then back on with the Iphone app...

Oh, I thought that wasn't possible.

Still, file that restart thing in the back of your mind. :)

Great work! I am completly spoiled rotten with this app! It's a real tank saver, and now I can actually take a trip without worrying myself into a ulcerous state. The next step is to get my linksys wireless webcam installed then I will be completly at ease.....anyone using one of the linksys webcams to monitor there tanks....seems to me a pic is worth a thousand words.

Thats my next project after getting the AC3 fully set up!!! I would love to be able to view my tank real time from my Iphone!

Hows the quality of the linksys webcams?

I don't think you can use AquaNotes and the iPhone app at the same time. They both use telnet.

Yes. This is the case. You can have as many web connections as you want to the AC, but only a single telnet connection at a time. Both the current implementation of the iPhone App and the Aquanotes windows software use telnet. I believe zigzag has a plan to update the iPhone App to use the web (e.g., HTTP) connection in the future, thus freeing up the telnet connection for use by Aquanotes (Windows).
