iPhone / iPad / Android Reef Apps

I dont' have the apex I am cheap and old school.
the only real problem I have noticed with the app is feed does not work. I don't worry about it because when I am feeding I am right next to the tank anyways so I just use the interface on the controller

ok, that's what I thought. I wrote the acserial2web program. Its not feed is not working per se, but neptune did not provide a command to invoke the feed mode. what you can do instead, if you use the acs2w web page instead of the aquanotes iphone app, is to create a macro and run the macro instead. the advantage of using the acs2w web page is it has the web cam feature built in, and all you need is plug in a cheap usb web cam to the same computer the acs2w program is running on.

I am currently using linksys wireless cam. Very happy with it. But I am looking into the IZON Remote Room Monitor

Hey guys, sorry for the hiatus, I had to get a new job (you know, the thing I do in order to pay for my tank), so all non-essential reefing projects needed to be put on hold.

Anyway.

I have the iPad Numbers format spreadsheet, revised and ready to go. I've emailed a few people who asked for it, feel free to PM me your email.

For anyone with aquaplanner Pro for the iPhone, does the charting work for you? I have tried it both on my iPhone and iPad and the app shuts down whenever try to chart something. I really like the app and want to give it 5 stars but the charting not working makes me want to give it 2 stars instead. Figured I'd ask here beforehand to make sure it isn't just me with this problem.

Ok, i sent an email through the website and he responded. He is aware of the bug and will fix it on the next release. The problem arises when you try to chart something and the temperature field is blank. Until then, the workaround is on any date, input a value in the temperature field (even a dummy value). Then try to chart again, and it should work. I'm using this app to track my results as i try to dial in a 2-part dosing system. Its pretty nice and in spite of the problem i'd still give it 5 stars as there is a very simple workaround for it.

My husband and his cousin are actually hoping to do an app for logging parameters, because my husband was really disappointed with the apps he tried. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be happy to pass them along!

I have been browsing these apps and even though i do not have a controller on the tank there are some really cool apps to help you keep on schedule, keep track of things and even take pictures of your stuff. That is just amazing. Aqua Tracker even allows you to customize two fields of parameter. This app has all the parameters we monitor, no extras stuff really, but the two extra customizable ones really gives the more advance reefer options. I think I am going to give this one a try and I'll let you know what I think.

aquaplanner pro looks to have much of the same functions, but is prettier! I might have to down load them both and I will update with my opinions.

I down loaded the aquaplanner pro and so far it is alot of fun. I was able to log all my equipment, livestock, water parameters, and maintainence schedule. for example when I logged that I replaced my T5 bulbs the app set up a built-in recommendation for when to replace T5 bulbs, and it will send a reminder to my calander. That is a nice feature. and with the live stock feature you can take a picture of each specimen and update the picture to monitor growth. this takes fish geek to a whole new level, but useful too.

Yeah I think aquaplanner pro is the best reef app for tracking parameters and scheduling maintenance and documenting additions. It does everything I need.
