Is 10g bug enough for quarantine?

I got a 10g glass tank for free when I got my larger tank. It has a lid and a freshwater florescent bulb hood. Is this large enough for a quarantine tank? I also have a 29g I was going to sell, but would rather not use it just because it is so much larger and I really don't have anywhere to put it.

All I'd need for the QT tank is a HOB filter, heater, and some PVC hiding pipe, right?

It depends what you are QT'ing. Most tangs will be very stressed in a 10g but clowns and firefish would be fine. As long as the fish are smaller and not super active swimmers should be fine.

for smaller fish yes... but beaware that depending on the lightfixture/hood you may get an electrical shock because the salt will short out some of the light fixtures that come with the 10g kits

thanks all. The fixture is over a hinged glass top, so it should be shielded from salt creep, but I'll keep an eye in it.

Actually this will be a QT tank for my new 90g. I plan to add a few anthias, firefish, and maybe a jawfish. Can I QT several anthias or firefish at the same time? How about both species together in the QT?

If you intend on observation/qt'ing all new fish you purchase then only purchase one or two (in the case of anthias) at a time so tha when the time comes to add them to your display tank you won't have a problem with the increased bioload.
The bacteria cycle in a tank to match the bioload of the tank then they remain constant. Therefore everytime there is a new bioload then the bacteria have to cycle their numbers to match it.
