is 400w 20k mh and 220w actintic too much light for a deresa?

I have it on the bottom of my 90 gallon reef. It is directly on the sand. about 30" down from the mh.

I've seen aquariums on the web and in magazines with more intense lighting setups than yours - more 400 watt bulbs at lower kelvin ratings - and there were derasas on the sand.

30" is pretty far down so I'm sure, with acclimation, it would be fine.

there is no way that would be too much light.
not on a 30" tank.
and not with 20k bulbs.
