Is a 1/4" worth a hundred bones?

I didn't notice any big differences in terms of colorization and pattern on the 2 fish. I will get the slightly smaller one for much less money.

Just to clarify I am not looking to purchase either one of these fish. I just thought that it was an interesting price disparity.

I suspect what will happen is that the smaller one will sell first. The larger one will stay unsold until it is reduced $50 to $100 (around the price of the smaller one).

Divers den is a little different than LA. Fish are one of a kind, they don't come in by the dozen. The individual (not a group) of fish is simply priced at whatever (probably KK) the person in charge thinks is the right price at the time. It is a bit arbitrary; but DD isn't a standard outlet. Knowing LA/DD a little; I'd bet they know a superior fish when they have it and will tend to price it accordingly. If their price is too high and they have it too long....the price will drop. Capitalism at its finest!

agree with all...it happens...sometimes the opp is true...look at the prices for a conspic, baby bandit, and some others...very expensive for the small ones and they get less expensive as they get bigger...I see both sides...what the market bears...it is all very interesting...lol...

It's better to add a larger fish then your largest fish to some reef keepers... I personally think seeing is understanding but I was always pricing based on what we paid + markup %...
A good fish cost more and a larger fish is the better fish in most clutches...

But Blueface, and other large angels, generally ship and acclimate better when small. not that 1/4 '' is any difference. But no matter what the price, I am very reluctant to buy any Indonesian fish, even from DD.
