Is a Clam Safe with ..

i.e. will any of these fish listed peck at a clam?

I have a Flame Angel and a Maroon clown and neither have paid much attention to the clam at all.

Emperor would be my biggest concern but flames have been known to also nip at the clam's mantle

ive read that with any kinda angel dwarf or not, your taking a risk.

I have a flame and I have seen him nip at the shell, but not the mantle. That is the only angle I have. I am not sure if that helps, but maybe you could get ride of the one that posses more of a threat, or trade it for a clam.

I say safe with the clown and flame but not very certain with the other two, foxface do get large though.

My Fox Face is on its way back to the LFS very soon...... to much tenssion in the tank since i got it - just waiting for a ripped dorsal fin to heal up...

There's no way id trade in my emperor, shes a beaut! I am worried about that fish tho as she likes to have a nip at my large green carpet anenome..

be good to hear from someone who's tried this combination....

i havve an empor in my tank, but he doesn't touch any of my clams. I find that fish in my tank, only go after the clams when they are first placed in the tank, meaning a new inhabitant clam comes in.
