is a pistal shrimp reef safe?

i was wondering if it was reef safe and what thair job is in a reef tank thanks

Well I know in the wild they kill cleaner shrimp so I would say no.

I heard of alot of people having them and being fine with cleaner shrimp. Just make sure you other shrimp are bigger than it. The job of the pistol shrimp is to normally pair with a watchman goby. They both dig a burrow together and help each other get food.

Reef safe means will it bother corals. No. Lol. Corals are safe from him...
Cleaner shrimp, no personal experience: mine does no harm to peppermint shrimp. He lives in a burrow with his yellow watchman goby, and in a year has harmed nothing in my sig list.

I had one, but in a 3 gallon. he killed all my shrimp.. but I'm guessing it was because of the tight space.

They'll be fine in a bigger tank as long as the shrimp stays away..!
