Is a RC Premium Membership really worth it?

Do those of you that "Support RC" really get access to the search function or are you locked out of it like the rest of us?

I would say that since I bought the membership I have been blocked out of the search maybe once or twice at most. It was well worth it to me.

It works most of the time. There are times when I do get locked out too and I just use the search function on the main page if I really want to search that bad. RC Search Link

That is interesting. I have tried to get on the search engine this morning and the snowball in hell has a better chance than I do. I tried the google link, but that was so broad I could not find what I needed, so I used the old fashioned method of digging through the achives manually. What a pain...

I could never ever get into search B4. Now I rarely get blocked out, and when I do it is only for a couple of minutes.

How about focused search on google Travis. If you use
"site:www.reefcentral.com topic"
If you type that a space and your topic it usally stay pretty focused. No quotes.

You can use google to search individual forums. You dont have to search the whole site everytime. Here is what I do and I have had great success doing it this was.

site:http://reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=247 search string

You can point to any forum by adding the entire URL, this string searches only the greater iowa reef forum for anything with 'search string' in the post. You can search the DIY forums by using this URL

site:http://reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=3 base rock

that will search for all posts that include the words 'base rock'

For all the money this site has saved me I just pay the fee. I did not even know that the search feature was only available to premium members. It is nice to search though anytime you want! Well worth it to me.
