Is a wave possible with multicontroller

I just purchased two Tunze 6100 and i am debating between the multicontroller and the neptune aquasurf.

Has anyone been able to achive a wave with two streams?

i dont see why you cant - if you put them on a really short interval at opposite ends of a tank, with a short pulse id think you should be able to achieve something , fiddle with the timing to alter the harmonics.

You can but depend on the size of your aquarium. You can use the aquasurf function but i like it best with the tunze multicontroller. If you decided to put your two pumps on faster interval, your magnet holder will have problem as well as the swevel arm. I would use the wavebox for wave purpose and the stream for directional.

Cool, this will be going on a standard 125 gallon tank (6') and i will put one on each side pointing length wise.

With the Multicontroller is it even possible for such short interval? I was under the impression that for waves the intervals are around 1 sec.

Thanks for all your help so far!

I have been running 4 6201 Tunze for over a year in a wave making scenario and had neither an issue with the magnets or swivel arm; what kind of problems have you seen (out of curiosity)?

I am not sure how fast of the interval you are running on your but i ran mine on the 6091 wave controller. The magnet clip broken off very fast. I replace the magnet holder couple times a year. Second thing i notice is the swevel arm came off the pump and become loose while the other pumps that ran on the 7095 don't have the that issue.

Mine toggle between 30/100 every 1.7 seconds. I do recall some 'issues' with loose connections between the pump and magnet (I known some who moved to a 3rd party magnet that was much tighter and less play). These other people are running 0/100% to get even more agressive waves.

It is hard on the holder hardware but it should take it, if it broke it was likely a defect. The 7095 can pulse as fast as 1 second, the 6091 is as fast .3 seconds, on a very long tank 10 ft or more the multicontroller could likely make a wave. The new 7096 will be able to run wave functions. The box does serve to boost the efficiency so it may take 2 or more non wavebox streams to get the effect of a single wavebox. Any surge device stresses the seams of the aquarium and will shorten the tanks life.
