Is an Ehiem 1262 enough return for my 180?

Yes the 1262 is perfect IMHO.
If I did it over, I would skip the CL and use all vor-techs. Maybe used. :)
I guess what I'm sayin' is when my SS "bites" it, it won't be replaced but I'll probably remove some rock and open it up a bit.

On a side note, the gyre flow discussion thread has me thinking...

i have a 1262 on my 75 gallon w/one overflow. I don't think it would power two sea swirls. It was enough for one return. I T'd it off to feed my fuge and now its just right. They seem to lose a lot of power with head pressure. Mine goes up about 55". BLUF: Probably ok if only used as return. If you want it to feed other stuff I'd get a bigger pump.

Could a 1262 power a skimmer and return in a 126 gal w 1 overflow?

really i hav a mag 7 and a rio pump rated 4 675 gph so abt 1375gph total on my 72 bow for return and its still not enough for my tank even with the additional power heads 2 k nanos, 1 k1, 1 mj1200 and one of those new square 500gph ph its still not enough
personally for what she wants to put in there i think reeflo dart is perfect and low elec cost 145w i think just my opinion

Use the snapper as your return. It can be dialed down to about 1000gph and under 100 watts. I don't see the need for the eheim.

I'm going to run a snapper for the returns on my tank, however I have the DART overflow box from glass-holes.com. It has 2 2" bulkheads :) Regardless, the more the snapper is restricted, the more efficient it is. They are very quiet and would give you some options to T-off for a skimmer or sump down the road. I personally don't think the eheim would be enough, but ultimately it's up to you.
