Is anybody running an IM Fusion?

I've had a few IM products. They're ok. Most are not the best quality, but they are exactly what their name is... innovative. Their customer service is great though. I had a 24 gallon that cracked and they sent me a brand new 30 fusion for free. Very cool. Of course I sold it because I wanted a sump. If I wanted another AIO tank I would get another. The fusions look pretty nice.

I've noticed that recommendation here and on other forums I'm just far to lazy to build a custom insert myself. I reached out to miracles to see if they could put one together for me otherwise IM might have to be my route. I also noticed a CADlight system but couldn't find enough good reviews to make me want to test it out. It will be for my sons room but I will obviously take the specimen collecting and maintaining over. He will have to coolest nano once I decide on which one to go with! I like the idea of the system not coming with lights as I will more than likely purchase a nano box system with bluefish so I'm limitless with what types of corals I can keep.

I would even check ebay for overflow boxes and ask someone to custom make one.
Also, nanobix is awesome. I have one on my nano. Couldn't be happier. I'm gonna modify my ATI sunpower with their v3 arrays as soon as I can pull together some extra dough.

I love Innovative Marine tanks. Best bang for the buck and great quality for AIO tanks. I've owned the 40g Fusion, SR80 Fusion, and 10g Fusion. I would say the quality is about the same as the CadLights and SCA tanks. Only reason I changed tanks is because I didn't want a AIO tank anymore.

The only problems I had with IM is my 24 gallon cracked and I noticed a lot of stray electricity from their pumps. I never needed a groud probe until I had IM. Plus their "gadgets" are a bit pricey. I also wouldn't recommend the intank baskets. They look nice but their customer service is horrible. I do not recommend intank as a company in general. They are flat out disrespectful. If you do get IM, get it from marine depot. They are awesome. My first IM tank I purchased through them and they sold me the skye led with a cracked plastic water shield. They gave me a brand new light and didn't even want the damaged one returned. The fusion tanks shouldn't have the crack issues like the old ones. They come with a soft mat and use square edges like most tanks.
I think aquarium depot stocks them. They also have ADA tanks which are pretty sweet. The insert shouldnt be too hard to build. You can get TAPS plastics to cut acrylic for about $12 a sq. Foot. Straight cuts are free. You just need to figure out how to cut the baffle holes and glue it in. Nanobox are a bit pricey, but the color is awesome. I put some setosa frags in my nano tank when they were almost dead, and now they started encrusting and have amazing PE. I don't even have a powerhead in the tank! Also have a miami hurricane chalice that was half dead that has doubled in size and the color is great. The bluefish is so easy. I just set to "Fiji" and it does it's thing.

IM Fusions [square corners] great quality.. nice seals, low iron.. IM non-fusion with rounded corners not so much especially when you use a stand that is as flimsy as an ironing board.

Do you think a pottery barn dresser could hold the 40? I like the size better it would drastically reduce the cost too as I wouldn't need a quad nanobox I believe the duo would suffice.

im tanks are nice to an extent. For a cheap reliable aio tank they are currently dominating the market.
As others have said, they are not the best quality but they sure are better than a diy aio tank. When I first got my im products I expected the quality to be better than it was.
But overall the tanks are a good bang for the buck.
There's actually someone on cl selling a nuvo 30l tank and stand for $400 FYI.

Should be fine... Just stay away from those rounded corner tanks.. the corners are weak from the bend and take all the stress when they are on a surface that is not completely flat..

Will do. The 40 will fit cleanly and have good height. Just have to sell the wife on it if I fail it'll be a 20 which will be lame. Luckily I can push more bio load in the larger environment. That will be my primary sales point lol. Thanks for the info everybody

Going to tell you.. you will have less temp,alk,cal,mg, swings on a larger tank.. its tough to keep a small tank unless you have experience with teetering all the elements and testing often.
