Is clown going to host?

Okay, so I've had my two clowns for about 4 months now. In the process, I've had two anems. The first one died because my tank was fairly new. I am trying it out again for the second time now. I added a long tentacle. It has been in the tank for two weeks now and has gone unnoticed. Today, I noticed that the male clown, smaller clown, has been swimming about an inch away from the anem. It has not left the same spot and when it does, it comes back after a few seconds to a minute. Yet, the clown has not even touched the anemone. Is this a sign of a future host...? The other clown is swimming all over the tank. Doesn't even notice it's partner missing. It did swim near the clown and even noticed the anenomne but swam away.

Okay, they're both ocellaris. Ones a snowflake and the other is either an ultra snowflake or premium snowflake. I can't tell the difference. Are ocellaris clowns pickier than pecula?

What's wrong with the forcing. I had some tank raised clowns ,waited 2 months and they wouldn't touch the nem. so I chased mine in with a pair of tongs. They haven't left it since ..... And if they try I'll be waiting with the tongs, it's the natural order of things. Lol

I've just read online that it's not the best way. Lol. I was thinking of putting them in a critter box, so they wouldn't have much room, but I'm not sure if that's the best thing. Lol.

Tongs...? You chased them with tongs and they were attracted to the nem right after that...?

Seriously, the togs did the trick? Lol^

Mine did exactly that before hosting. Give it some time. It took mine about 8 months to even swim close to it. A few months ago one of them started swimming near it for a few weeks then dove in one day!

Well, first off, the only thing clownfish may ever host are parasites, so let's hope they won't.

As for clownfish accepting an anemone as an host - some are more picky than others.

I have two percula that prefer a ceramic flowerpot over anything else I offered them so far (BTA, H. Crispa). Sometimes, when they feel cuddly, they also go into my colony of green star polyps.
I suppose they are waiting for me to get them a gigantea.

Tank raised ocellaris very often accept BTAs if one was offered to them at a young age. I see it here at the LFS' all the time: new small tank raised ocellaris are put into a tank with BTAs and a few minutes later many of them are already in an anemone.
