Is dosing Phyto beneficial to SPS tanks in any way?

Good question me too I have been dosing phyto every few days for my Christmas tree worms? Not sure if it actually feeds them or not

It's very easy to make. I made about 2.5 liters a week for a couple of weeks and then realized I had no where to use this much and cut it down to about 1 liter. Still don't know what to do with it :)
I just wonder if it's just polluting my tank, or whether it has any benefit to my sps at all!

i do a few drops of kents phyto two times a week to feed pods. hard to tell if it helps the corals.

If I'm mistaken, hopefully someone else can chime in, but I do believe phytoplankton feeds your zooplankton, which does feed your sps.. but really, might not be all that necessary.

If you don't mind sharing how did you make your own phyto thanks!

^^ thats the theory behind it in an SPS tank.

but those zooplanktons also consume bacteria and detritus, so adding phyto is just an extra, if bacteria and detritus are present for those zooplanktons to consume.
