Is it a mantis (with pic)?

Hi:

I posted this on the "Reef Discussion" forum and someone said this may not be a mantis and suggested that I post here.

Can anyone help me ID this? I have noticed recent casualties in my tank along with some loud clipping sound, so I set up a bottle trap to catch this thing. It is about 2.5" long.

BTW is it possible for this thing to kill a flame hawk of the same size??

Definetly a mantis.

Yep it's a mantis and no I doubt it could kill a healthy flame hawk - I've seen flame hawks rip shrimp several times their size apart into pieces then chow down.

Don't flush him - if you want I'll take him I'm in north Austin.
