Is it difficult for a carpenter to make a 'shell' for an aluminum stand?

I was thinking about getting a large starphire tank but they only make aluminum stands to support them. We really want wood. Is it difficult for a carpenter to make something that is like an aesthetically pleasing wood shell or something that 'surrounds' the ugly IMO aluminum bare bones stand?

Hope this makes sense!

id assume it would be a simple task, even for a person with basic knowledge and tools. all you would need to do is cut your sheets of wood, preferably cabinet grade, say 3/8-1/2" thick to fit the front and sides of the stand structure, cut out holes in the wood panels and install the cabinet doors, then drill holes through the wood into the aluminum stand with a smaller drill bit than the screws you will use, then sink the screws through the wood into the aluminum, sinking the head of the screw an 1/8" into the wood, use filler over the screw heads, then stain everything to the color you choose. but before you install the wood panels, seal the inside of the wood and cabinet doors to protect against water damage.

Make it out of steel and skin it with wood.

The stand/canopy will have folding shutters for hurricane protection!!!
Right now, I have some thick foam that I hang in front of it.

I did that for my 29g with a metal stand... Basically you screw three pices of wood together in an incomplete rectangle then expand off that.

Exactly!!!
I'm not permanently attaching mine to the metal. It will be removable as a whole, for extreme maintenance.
