just wondering if Im the only one surfing both forums

I figure if it turns out that everyone does surf both, then we can reduce the number of double postings

PS: check your 'tude at the door if you brought one

I check the other one from time to time but it seems most of the info. and fun happens on this one.

yeah IM pretty pathetic, I only surf these 2 on here...sometimes the equipment for sale forum, but other than that, only these two

I must be real pathetic, I read almost all posts from 29 forums here, 3 from marine depot, and I quit the reefs org because it turned into almost a pure politics/religion debate board.

Almost???:D BTW, if you believe in God, don't ever let them know....you'll be sorry.

I spend very little time on RC but I browse both local boards, the Chem forum, and occassionally the general forum or the Off-Topic forum.

Almost everyone reads both and people always have to post the same thread on both sides, WHY??? So that one person won't miss out?

I helped start up SLASH this last year, but I surf both and will be posting on both...heck, out of our 70+ members on SLASH, I bet most of them belong to SEASL too.

While I have not liked the way the "elder statesmen" at SEASL ran the club in the past, I find that I like 99% of their current members and consider many of them friends.

Our main reason for starting SLASH was because the leaders of SEASL refused to grow with the times. Reef Central is what caused their success and growth, not the other way around. When they chose not to recognize the collective voices of the folks here on RC, we thought it time to give those voices a podium and started this club.

I think it is time to move forward in friendship. We have two clubs and I would like to see more interaction and cooperation between them. Heck, we are all in the same hobby and pursuing many of the same goals.

The plus side for folks that could never make the once a month weekend meeting like me, is that we now offer several functions each month. It might be a weekend event at one of the clubs, or an informal pizza night/tank tour with SLASH. I think bringing the folks for laid back nights out talking over a beer or three has been a great thing and has really forged some good friendships.

Hopefully, things will improve and we will see both clubs work together in the Saint Louis Area to accomplish great things.

thanks for the input Dave

the point I was trying to make is EXACTLY what dphinsx2 said

why do we need all of the double threads....if you notice the double threads...one of them gets a bunch of replies and the other gets none

I always end up replying to one thinking IM the first to call dibs on something, then go to SEASL and see the same thread with 13 replies and IM the only boner replying in the SLASH thread

I surf over 5 forums here on RC. So yes I surf both. While I'm not quite as bad as poor ol' Roy in the way of this hobby, I try to surf other forums like cars and trucks. I just don't have Roy's amount of time on my hands. :lol2:

I really do mean this and would like to see an end to all negative feelings from opinionated members of each club. We need to look at the big picture and realize we are all in the same hobby and have the same goals for the most part.

Fighting each other does nothing but alienate new members and older members. I promise to do whatever I can to repair the rift that has formed out of forming SLASH and am open to any suggestions for improving things.

For my part in creating bad feelings between the clubs, I apologize.

I am a member of both clubs (actually, it's time to renew my SEASL membership)...

When I post on both forums (which is rare), it's because I think some of the SEASL people don't read this forum, not the other way around. After all, we are the "new guys". Most of us here were already in the habit of checking the SEASL forum daily (or hourly, or every five minutes... :D ), but over there, some of them might not have the habit of checking here.

Maybe a group party For both clubs to sponsor together ?

That would be cool. I spent about 2 years mostly in Washington DC and most of this year in bed with a broken back. There's lots of people from both clubs that I don't know.

We can all act split-personality and introduce ourselves to ourselves.

We'll need lots of mirrors.
