It would make sense to unite into one club due to the fact that we are all the same folks here in these two forums that comprise the membership.
I think the SEASL leaders are willing to look at this positively and as SLASH leaders, we should too. Sometimes, things go haywire due to circumstances beyond our control, but it is how we learn from our past mistakes that takes us where we want to go collectively.
What matters is what the
members want. If the members want one club, then we should get together with each other and make it happen for them, or they can do it for us

If the members still want two clubs, then we can strive to become clubs in friendship and not competitor's.
Initially, I thought SLASH forming was the greatest thing for our area, but after watching the tensions rise and seeing members alienated from one or both clubs for whatever reason, I decided that I was part of the problem. Now, I want it known that I am part of the solution, which is to do whatever it takes to make our two clubs function together somehow as one super club.
If we can look towards the future with a calm and cooperative spirit, there is nothing we can not do. Our resources in one club would be extraordinary. We can offer different venues and meeting times for members as they wish. We are only limited by our own personalities and unwillingness to do what is best for the saltwater hobbyists in our area.
