is it me or does everyone surf both forums?

the only reason I was wondering is so that we can avoid having identical threads in each forum

I think we've established that a huge majority surf both so if you're trying to sell your used potting soil you can just post it in one place....makes it easier for readers

I see the forums as more of a regional thing than a club thing...I dont feel like IM intruding when I post in SEASL

So do I and when you post on SEASL, you're not intruding. Like Dave said....we're all in this together. Who cares which club you are in or even if you're in neither or both. We all live in the same city, have similar interests, etc. Onwards and Upwards!!! I plan on joining SLASH as well.

This is a great idea. Maybe a spring time BBQ or something like that. I know there are several meetings scheduled for the next few months already. The poll shows that 97% already surf both Forums.

Might be a good time to see if people from other cities might want to venture here, since people from St Louis are going to Nashville for their Frag Event in a few weeks. Could make a big Saltwater Event of some sort and get poeple from all over.

Sounds like a good Idea to me. Get as many clubs involved as possible. That's why it is a community. So lets commune

I would be in favor of a SLASH/SEASL event!! I think it is time to get past ourselves and work together for the common good.

As a pair of clubs working with each other in friendship, we could accomplish great things. Good ideas so far, keep them coming.

I dont see a new Public Aquarium being ready in time for a joint event this spring LetMeGrow, but that is a good idea. Maybe if they build it in a few years, another event can be held there.

When is it going to be time that both clubs put on a LARGE frag swap? Large enough to advertise to other groups from Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Arkansas and whatever.

Steve: I don't know if this is the aquarium you keep speaking of, but my brother in Iowa was telling me about a hugh aquarium going up there. He said it had been debated for years as to where it would go. All they know for sure is that it should be in the mid west. Mo.Il, Iowa, kansas were all talked about and researched. He said the decision was finally made and it is going up in Iowa. Now this isn't going to start as Saltwater. and then in like 2020 they are supose to do the Saltwater. This place is also supose to have a rainforest. I can't find the name of the web site right now. I'll ask him next time we talk. This new aquarium is supose to be one of the largest in the country, and ready before 2010, maybe sooner.

I never understood the expressions of animosity between the clubs. I explained the situation to my 14 year old son, and he said, "These are grown people?"

I don't want to understand. I would like to see us all get over ourselves and get along for the common good of the hobby we love. Particularly since the membership of both clubs is largely comprised of the same people.

This club was started in the purpose of trying to get more people together as a group/club, do more things, be more a part of LFS, and each other.

I am not on the board of SLASH! But my opinion is this... The other club was in a rut, no new Ideas, going the same direction. Lot of people wanted change, but change was not something they wanted.

With the start of SLASH, the other club as become more susceptible to change which in turn is good! Having two clubs in the St. Louis Area is not a bad thing, it’s a GREAT Thing.

Seems strange to have 2 groups duplicating efforts and competing for time and members.

St Louis could have a great saltwater community if everyone just got along and stopped the bickering.
