Is it necessary to mount my SPS?

I received 2" and 4" colonies of A.Tenuis about 2 weeks ago.
They are doing good from what I can tell, color is returning and great PE.

I currently have them stuck securely inside the holes in my rockwork.
The very bottom or base of the colonies are NOT flush against any surface, so the base will probably not encrust to anything.

I have some smaller stylos and pocillopora that are directly glued to rockwork.

Just that these 2 tenuis colonies are larger and mounting them is a bit tougher.

Will not having the bases mounted reduce the corals growth rate? Or have a negative affect on overall health? Or will they be fine as long as they are secure?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Wazzel.
I just remember reading some posts where people said their frags didnt really start growing until the base encrusted. Since these are my first acros, I wanted to be sure I wasn't dooming them.

They will encrust where ever they make contact with the rocks, glue is not required if they are stable and not in danger of falling over.
