Is it okay to post Classifieds-ish things here?

I don't want to break any RC rules, but I have a coral I am planning to get rid of. I'll probably trade it in/donate it to Caesars, but thought I'd offer it here first. My main two questions are:

(1) Is it okay to post classifieds things outside the classifieds area? I don't want to deal with shipping it, so here makes more sense?

(2) Is it okay to post classifieds things before I have access to the classifieds area (< 90 dat member)?


Maybe I'm worrying too much, but I don't want to break the rules.

Short story:
I have a maxi-mini anenome. My snails keep wandering into it. I'd be up for trading it or selling it. I'd probably be willing to trade it for "an item to be named later" within this group is someone wanted. I'm going to to a little rescape and remove the rock it is on anyway.

Full Story:
I have large flat rock that creates a shelf/cave in my tank. The rock is nice, as it has holes I could put frag plugs in, but half of it is covered in horrible red turf algae (more on this in another thread soon) and the other half is covered by the nem. As such, the rock isn't useful and my CUC seems to avoid it or get eaten when they go over there. I'm also starting to get GSP growing on the underside of the rock, and am thinking I should make my GSP more isolated. There is a mini mini nem (size of a quarter) amid all the red turf algae, that I'd like to save if possible. I'm planning to remove the rock break it in half, one half with the maxi mini, one half with the algae and mini mini. If I can get the mini mini off, while leaving it attached to a somewhat small piece of rock I will. The algae rock is going to get tossed in a 5 gallon tank in my garage. It has water and old live (probably now dead) rock in it, but no light/heater/etc. Ideally the algae will die off and I can re-cycle it and make use of it either in this tank or another one later.

I'll try and take some pictures later so people can see what I am talking about, if anyone is interested.

What's the color of the maxi? Purple/green? Blue/green?

It is green/purple. Here is a picture of it prioir to me rescaping this evening. I took the large flat rock out and broke it into pieces. That thing was as big as 1/3 my tank footprint...not sure what I was thinking using it. The nem is pretty pi$$ed right now because the rock split under it's foot into three pieces. I am hoping it relocates onto just one of them, but not onto something else in my tank.

northbay-reefer - I'm not really sure what I want, and don't really want to add anything while I am rescaping. If you want to come and get it, I'll assume that you are good for it and we can work something out later. Sound reasonable? I'll let you know tomorrow if it isn't looking well given it's being relocated, but I think it will be fine.

PS: Note the horrible algae. I don't think any of it is on the rocks that the nem is attached to, but I;ll look tomorrow when the lights come on.

It looks like it is staying put down on a small rock on the sanded, maybe off the rocks it will be less able to get my cuc?

Since no one seems interested immedialtey I'll see how it does in its new slot.

Just so you can hear it straight from a mod no issues with you selling here as far as I'm able to see . Got more than 50 posts, been member for way longer than 90 days, so you ought to be good.

Okay all, Caesars is open to taking it, but I'd like to move it to someone here if interested. I can meet in the next day or so if anyone is interested, and wants to trade for/buy it. Otherwise it is going to them. If you want to buy it, shoot me an offer, if you want to trade, I like LPS/zoas. Not into SPS too much yet.

I don't want to wait too long because it is trying to reattach itself to the main rock work (had to take it off yesterday). I'm hoping it is still on the small rock I put it on last night.
