ive got a 180 tank 60g two part sump. im using a blueline 70 around 2000g pump to run my skimmer, uv, reactor, and two returns and also a blueline 40 pump around 800g to run my 4way om. is this over kill on water movement? ive got about 340lb of rock super thin sand bed mixed lps and sps. about 13 fish some are larger tangs.

ive been tryin to move from the lpss and go hard into spss. ive been adding alot of acros percilaporas milliporas and montis. but also keep a medium amount of fish

If you are planning to keep SPS, you will need to add some powerhead in the near future. That is nothing for SPS IMO but i am still a rookie :). You are in the right place for advice.

Yes I agree that most likely is under flow IMO. I have two Barracuda's that offer 4500gph each. I do have a 280g with other tanks attached but I still need my two Tunze 6200's inside the tank for flow. It also depends on how your plumbing is from your pump to the returns - 90's kills the flow. Also the size of pipe must be calculated into your flow. What you want to end up with 30x - some say something like 75x over turn. Hope this helps ;).

I'm surprised anything is coming out of your OM4 way with only 800g. Most us a dart which offers 3600g - just some information. I'm no expert on flow but I think what you have now is way under what is required for SPS dominated tank.

Hope this helps some ;).
