Is it possible to have a RBTA under T5

Hi All,

As a result of a series of unavoidable events, I have been stream lining my tank to make it more economical. I have recently swapped out my 2no. 250MH lamps for T5 lighting, and am very pleased with the effect.

I have tried to remove my RBTA, but I just cannot get it out of the rocks. If I thought my new lighting was sufficient, I would like to keep it.

To that end, at the moment, it has positined itself about 6" from the water surface. The T5's ae about 3" above te water surface. To be honest, it actually looks brighter than before, and they are 10k bulbs (the RBTA is under two T5 tubes). He is actually positioned exactly centrally under the tubes, so he is really getting the maximum amount of light that is possible. Lights are on for 10hrs a day.

With regual feeding - once or twice a week - is this going to be enough for the creature long term?

Many thanks

REgards,

Matt

I have mine under PC lights and they are growing and have good color. I'm sure they will be fine under T-5 lights.

All my BTA, RBTA included, thrive under T5HO lighting. Some as deep as 16" under the bulbs. + a bleached Carpet Nem at the bottom of a 125g rebounding nicely. T5's can grow anything, if you have the right amount of bulbs.

Under T5s.
