is it possible to successfully introduce 2 maroons?

i have a 55 gal tank with a maroon clown and a bta, both have been in there about 2 months, and my friend just gave me another maroon they are about the same size, i have the maroon he gave me in a 12 gal cube,. im wondering if its possible to introduce them and have them both live in the 55, and if so how would i go about doing that? ive heard its pretty much impossible but i just wanted to check before i get rid of the new maroon.

I've had no experience with maroons, but I've heard the same horror stories you probably have. Especially about their short-term memories, where you can buy a mated pair at the LFS, bag them separately, and then when you get home, the female kills the male.
